TeamsAs well as professional coaching, we offer our juniors social and competitive tennis. In order to satisfy our juniors' competitive instincts, Len George (tel. 020 8204 3678), our Junior Development Officer, runs Under 12's, 14's, 16's and 18's teams with 1st and 2nd teams in most age groups. Working voluntarily with Harrow's juniors, Len organises junior social and team play. In the winter of 2006/7 Harrow Lawn won more Middlesex Junior League matches than any other club, winning five league trophies. With this in mind, we are pleased that on Saturday mornings Elaina Forland (tel. 077899 61142) is coaching our juniors. (See Saturday morning coaching times). Elaina will also run junior LTA-approved tennis camps during Harrow School's holidays. Sessions must be booked. |
Junior ChampionsThe winner of the annual junior tournament receives the Lack Cup, named in honour of long-serving former HLTC President Alistair Lack. Singles
Child ProtectionFor the protection of children and for parents' peace of mind, HLTC complies with the LTA's Child Protection Practice. (See also Guidance for Parents). We ask that parents enrolling their children (under 18) for coaching or allowing them unaccompanied use of the courts complete and sign a child registration form. It includes a consent clause, which, if needed, permits us to call for medical assistance. Carole Bellringer, our nominated child protection officer, will deal with any enquires. Download our Child Registration Form (Microsoft Word) and LTA's Travel Consent Form (Portable Document Format): Playing TimesOn term-time Saturdays between 9.15am and 2.00pm juniors have precedence over adults on courts One, Two and Three.
We are unable to offer our juniors coaching during Harrow School's half terms, but throughout the summer on selected courts we give juniors priority over adults: Tuesdays (courts 1, 2,3) and Fridays (courts 1,2,3,7,8,9) from 6.30pm; and Saturdays (courts 1,2,3) between noon and 2.00pm. On all other courts and at all other times, adults have priority, but with twelve available courts adults and juniors usually find court space. Coaching TimesElaina Forland (tel. 077899 61142) coaches our juniors. There are three Saturday morning sessions.
The age groups are only a guide: experience and level of play dictate which session juniors should attend. |
